How to Get a Disneyland Hotel Discount

Home » Disneyland Discount Tips » Disneyland Hotel Discounts

Disneyland Hotel Discount. You're going to Disneyland, woohoo! By now you've realized things can get expensive though. A little discount never hurts. If you have your eye on a particular hotel, here are some tips for getting a better rate, in alphabetical order:

  • AAA (American Automobile Association)

Call your hotel, find out the standard room rate, and then ask if they offer a discount for AAA members. AAA discounts are usually around 10% per night, so if your hotel is $150/night and you’re staying 5 nights, that would mean a savings of $75. Plus you’ll probably get discounts on surrounding restaurants as well. So even if you’re not currently a AAA member, it may be worth it to become one.

  • AARP (American Association of Retired Persons)

If you’re 50 or older, ask your hotel if they offer AARP discounts. Just like AAA, it may be worth it to join, for the hotel discount and lots of other savings potential. (You don't have to be retired.) I think they offer up to 20% discounts at nearby hotels like Howard Johnson’s.

  • Book Online

Many hotels offer their best rate only on their website. But make sure it says "Guaranteed Lowest Rate" or something like that. If it doesn't, see this tip.

  • Costco

Call Costco Travel at 1-877-849-2730 and ask about discounts, particularly the 4th night free promotion. The discount may be good enough for you to join, if you’re not a member already.

  • Discount Travel Websites

If your hotel’s website doesn’t say their rates are guaranteed lowest, check travel websites like Orbitz.com or Hotels.com. They usually dig up the best rates. Tip: Hotels.com has started a Disneyland summer sale: Click here to save up to 30% off Anaheim.

  • Disneyland’s website

You might be surprised to hear you can get a Disneyland hotel discount through Disneyland directly. Check the current hotel promotions on their site.

  • Entertainment Book

This is a coupon book good anywhere in the U.S. for tons of stuff in your neighborhood like restaurants, grocery stores, etc. They also offer 50% off many hotels in Anaheim and other places. Call your hotel and ask if they offer an "Entertainment rate" -- sometimes the book doesn’t list a hotel that really does participate.

  • Hotel Rewards Programs

Check rewards programs such as Hilton HHonors or Marriott Rewards. If you’ve stayed at a hotel chain with a member rewards program, don’t forget to use your points! If you’re not sure if you’re a member (I tend to forget, am I the only one?) ask the hotel— they’ll look up your name and tell you.

  • United Air

If you stay on-property for at least 4 nights, United will give you a $150 gift card if you book it through them. If you stay 4 nights, that’s like getting a hotel discount of $37.50 per night. Get the rebate here.

  • 2 More Tips for Getting Your Disneyland Hotel Discount

    1. Call your hotel and ask for their best rate. This may sound silly but sometimes their best prices aren’t advertised. And if your dates are flexible, tell them. They may be able to find an even better price.

    2. When you arrive: That day or the day before you arrive, call your hotel and ask if their current rate is lower than the one you’re paying. If it is they may reduce your rate.
